Painting, Platters, and Precious Moments: A Perfect Girls’ Night In
There’s something special about trying something new with close friends, especially when you know your time together is limited. As seniors and longtime roommates, my friends and I have been cherishing these final months, making the most of every moment. A few nights ago, we decided to try something new, painting wine glasses, while making a charcuterie board and dessert board. It was perfect because my friends and I love cheese and desserts!
I’ve always wanted to paint but never really found the time to sit down and do it. This felt like the perfect opportunity. We set up our glasses, brushes, and paints at the table, each of us picking out designs- some freehanded flowers and I did little evil eyes. There was something so relaxing about dipping the brush into the paint and watching our glasses transform into colorful personalized pieces. It was a great idea because we will use our wine glasses when we have wine nights!

Meanwhile, we put together a gorgeous spread of meats, cheeses, crackers, and different dips alongside a dessert board filled with chocolate, cookies, and fresh berries. It felt like a scene from a Pinterest board, the perfect setup for a cozy night in. Music played in the background, setting the mood, we snacked, laughed, and shared memories from the past four years. This night wasn’t just about trying a new craft; it was about slowing down and soaking in the time we had left together. Painting wine glasses might just become a new hobby, but more than that, this was a night of bonding, one that reminded us how important it is to make time for the simple, wholesome moments. As we admired our finished glasses and dug into the last bites of dessert, we all agreed: this was one of those nights we’d always look back as graduation approaches.
